What WA law requires
In Western Australia, Class 3B and Class 4 lasers are regulated under the Radiation Safety Act 1975 and overseen by the Radiological Council of WA. Every regulated laser must be registered (even when in storage), and users must hold a licence, an exemption, or work under appropriate supervision. Devices must also meet the safety standard AS/NZS IEC 60825.1.
