With 15 years as Field Service engineer with experience expanding from medical and dental devices and Xrays, to the medical and aesthetic laser industry, Yiannis Karpathakis combines laser compliance expertise with extensive hands-on technical knowledge of the devices used in clinics every day. As a Queensland Accredited Person, Yiannis provides independent laser device compliance certification, laser room compliance assessments, and laser safety consulting services to cosmetic, dermatology, and medical clinics throughout Queensland.
Before founding Laser Compliance Queensland, Yiannis worked as a Technical Lead and member of the Candela Global Service Team, supporting clinics and service teams across a wide range of Candela laser platforms. This role provided invaluable experience in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and performance evaluation of some of the world's leading medical and aesthetic laser systems.
Having worked extensively with the full Candela product range—including GentleMax Pro, GentleMax Pro Plus, GentleLase, GentleYAG, PicoWay, Vbeam Perfecta, Vbeam Prima, and Nordlys systems—Yiannis has developed a deep understanding of how these devices operate, the common issues they experience, and the most effective ways to resolve them. This technical background is a significant advantage during compliance assessments. Rather than simply identifying a problem, Yiannis can often determine the underlying cause and provide practical recommendations to help clinics restore performance, improve reliability, and minimise costly downtime.
